About Farmer Insurance

Two men had the same dream in 1928: to offer a good insurance product at a fair price. We developed and made adjustments in the ensuing decades to accommodate the shifting needs of Americans. But one thing hasn’t changed: Our steadfast dedication to upholding our original goals to offer market-leading products and top-notch services to the clients we have the honor to serve

At Farmers, we are committed to helping you prepare for the unforeseen and to restoring order when it happens, so you can continue pursuing your life goals.

We have received letters of appreciation from our customers over the years. In 1959, one customer was amazed when we replaced his stolen car battery in an hour. In 2002, another couple praised our agent and claims adjuster for their compassionate and helpful service after a personal loss. That same year, when Beaumont, Texas was hit by Hurricane Rita, we sent 300 agents to evaluate the damages while our policy holders were safe. We also gave $100,000 and two powerful generators to help Beaumont recover from the storm. No matter when or where a disaster strikes, you can rely on us to be there for you.

Our companies are among the largest providers of insurance for vehicles, homes and small businesses in the nation and offer a variety of other insurance and financial services products.

We are honored to serve over 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies in all 50 states through the work of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees.

The Farmers Exchanges consist of three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) that are owned by their policyholders, and along with their subsidiaries and affiliates make up the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Farmers Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, acting as attorneys-in-fact, provide administrative and management services to the Farmers Exchanges.
